I predict that in two years time research will show that this was a witch hunt, fueled by greedy lawyers and Americans who don't know how to drive (sometimes killing themselves and others ). History will show that there wasn't a damn thing wrong with any of the Toyota vehicles, but the economic damage to Toyota Corp. will take ten years or more to repair. Your thoughts?
I even bolder prediction is within 5 years it will be leaked from a Toyota insider that the "shim" recalls and "floor mat" recalls were a business strategy gone bad. They thought they could shut the US regulators (NITSA) and the general public up, rather than a better business plan which would have been to not do anything and blame the drivers....they opened themselves up to litigation by issuing the recall, which most engineers say does nothing.
