What are your opinions on smoking weed?

This is in fact a serious question, soley for the purpose of debate and discussion. Please no heated arguments! I just wanted to hear from both sides pro- and anti- marijuana, and get everyones opinion on the topic. Personally, I think if someone wants to be allowed to smoke weed they should be able to. In my opinion everything about weed seems to be better than alcohol. Alcohol causes way more problems such as agression, drunk driving, and long lasting effects like liver damage and all that I could go on and on... While weed seems to make more people get along, and more calm rather than agressive... and so on and so on. I just think it's stupid if it's legal in places like Amsterdam why it's still illegal here. Especially now with all this stupid marijuana card holder stuff, where it's legal for some and not others and everyone is abusing the priviliage and legal in some states not others blah blah. I also do not believe it is a gateway drug because I know many people who are perfectly content just smoking weed and nothing else and dont even want to try anything else. I also think if it were to be made legal it would decrease it being a "gateway" because you could aquire it under more normal situations and not go through a "drug dealer" who is also trying to push other drugs on you... just my random thoughts I could go on, but I want to hear everyones ideas on it.
