I know that the race of the ancient egpytians is largely up for debate but apparently this has become quite an issue 
It should be noted that, although the race of ancient egpytians in mass is generally considered to be multiracial: middle-eastern, black and white, the royals were a different matter entirely, vastly due to the incest of egyptian royalty :s
Historians generally accept that, Cleopatra's father was definitely of complete greek ancestry rather than egyptian, and thus white, however her mother's origins are less clear. Some claim that she was the sister of Cleopatra's father, also of greek and thus also white. Whilst other claim she was 'nubian' see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nubian_people , who were a people very similar in appearance to modern day ethiopians & somalians and thus black.
Therefore, Cleopatra could have been either completely white or half white and half black.
So, do you think angelina jolie was an appropriate choice?
