What are this year's fashion trends?

I've heard that plaid designs (especially purples and reds and blacks) are very popular, I think. Also, black nail polish. But, I am not sure, and I want to know what they are, and how to wear them. Anything as far as hairstyles, clothes, nail colors, shoes, etc., will work. Please include pictures. Also, explain how to wear them.
