I found a long-haired dog who was covered in burrs and stickers. Most were ordinary kinds I've seen before, but she had some that looked like a long twisted thread with a wide, pointy part at one end. The pointy part had worked its way into her skin and started to grow. I've never seen anything like it and I wondered what kind of plant that is. It almost looked like she'd had stitches. and it was embedded about 1/2" into her skin.
