...the prefix "~$"? Whenever I open a Word document usually another "companion file" comes up in the same area as the original file (such as in the desktop). These files start with ~$ then part of the original file name.
For example:
Filename is abcd.docx
The companion file is ~$cd.docx
The icon that shows up is usually darker or transparent as well. Im using Windows 7.
Can anyone tell me what they are? And how to keep them from coming up?
