What are the years of compatibility for a sharp cash register XE-A21S and Quickbooks?

I have Quickbooks 2006 pro and a cash register Sharp XE-A21S that are supposed to be compatible. Quickbooks tells me the compatable years are 2004 - 2007 but Sharp says they are 2008-2010.Which one is correct?
