I am Italian, a Country in which there is a certain tradition in "learning" (as much as possible) Classic Languages. in our High school which are called "Licei" pupils learn Latin grammar rules, morphology of propositions ans syntaxis of Latin periods, and how to writly translate-short-passages from Latin to Italian or English/French, according to which foreign language, meanwhile, they're attending to.
Is in grammar Schools latin tought in the same way? Or is it considered a modern language to write and speak fluently and properly, too?
