What are the necessary steps to purchase a used camper?

I am buying a used RV from a guy in New Hampshire. I am (and will register) in Massachusetts. I am not sure what will be needed to complete the transaction, and how to go about completing all necessary paperwork. Do I have to pay 5% sales tax at the RMV? Can I take it if I don't have the title yet? Any guidance is appreciated.
