The game Civilization by Firaxis is mostly empire management, which ranges from buildings that serve functions in cities to managing a military to dealing with foreign countries to using workers to cultivate the land.
It takes place on a world map which can be a real-life historical map or a completely fictitious one. Most versions of the game come with pre-made scenarios that are mostly about historical events like the world wars or the rise of ancient kingdoms.
There are four different versions of the game, the most current being Civilization 4 by Firaxis.
