What are the laws in the workplace regarding temporary and permanent status.?

Currently I am employed under a temporary status within a company. I work directly for the company and not through a temp agency. I have been employed for over a year and within that year they have hired 3 permanent employees with full time hours while leaving me at my temporary status without benifits or health coverage. These hires were for the same posistion Recently about a month ago I submitted an internal employee application to gain permanent status, about 2 days ago they hired yet another permanent full time employee at my store location.

I would like to try to understand what are my rights in this matter. I live within Arizona.
