What are the grooming needs of a Pomeranian?

What type of coat do Pomeranians have (i.e. long, medium, double-coated, etc.) and how often does it need to be groomed? Do they need to see a profesional groomer, or can I groom them at home? What type of brush should I use?

I just want all of the basics. Thansks!
