What are the differences between the system of an Australian and an American school?

I'm going to 11th grade this fall in California, but my family somewhat have a plan they might be moving to Australia. What are the differences between the system of an Australian and an American school? Do they use the same methods of teaching as the American school? Any thoughts or comments are more than welcome. Thank you so much.
