Does anyone know the child support laws in Iowa? I've tried many searches online, but only able to find the general information. My husband and I were granted sole physical custody of his daughter in October and her mother was granted every other weekend visitations only if her mother comes and gets her. So far, when it's her weekend, she makes no attempt to see the child or call. Every time we try to track her down, no one in the family knows where she is, so the child goes to her Great Grandma's house. This mother is useless, she just lost all 4 of her child, didn't comply with DHS orders, didn't comply with court orders, has never signed or answered a single document regarding her kids or court. We're about to have her served for child support. In Iowa, what will happen if she doesn't answer or fill out the necessary paperwork for child support? What will happen if she doesn't appear in court? Pay support ordered? She's not known for telling the truth, if she's working and lies about it, would Child Support Recovery be able to find out?
