what are the causes of gerbils fighting?

hi i really need to know because a couple of days ago my male gerbil mated with my female i think and the other night my grey gerbil who a girl and my ginger one also female had a fight the next morning they had blood on them and last night i saw them wat could the cause be is is dominance or pregnancy
