What are the best fish companions?

This is my first tank and I am about to stock it with fish. Ive done some research and decided on White Cloud Mountain Minnows or a type of Danio, depending on my local pet store's availability.

My tank is 10 gallons, unheated, and is around 70 degrees, which I heard is ideal for the WCMM. Since they are mid to top dwellers, Im looking for a bottom dweller to give more life to the tank.

Im also trying to stick to the 1 inch per gallon rule so with a group of 7-8 minnows, I want to find a bottow dweller that can either live on its own or in pairs. Any suggestions would be helpful!

If you are getting Danio's most of them are fin nippers so don't keep them with long tailed fish unless you keep them in a group of 5+ and try to get some guppies very good beginner fish
