What are the benefits to using ffdshow filters over the default Media Player Classic

(built-in) filters? I don't use any of the transforms, shaders, effects, or anything like that in ffdshow.

I used to use CCCP, but since switching to a 64-bit OS it no longer works properly. Instead I installed the ffdshow 64-bit and the 64-bit MPC separately.

Also, what does the rest of the CCCP do? Haali Media Splitter? DirectVOB Sub?
