Because people always seem to call at the worst moments, like when you're in a meeting or in a conversation with someone. I tend to leave it on vibrate all the time just so it never interupts me. I'll answer it if I can. Also, I don't always hear the phone in my pocket if something around me is loud, but you almost always feel it vibrate.
