What are the basic requirements to work in the Medical Field?

as an assistant, nurse or front office clerk,

I heard you can take online courses or get a certificate and you would be given entry to work as a basic assistant and eventually study to go further levels

btw im currently attending college and receive some credits. Would that give me an edge to a position?
