I don't remember exactly. They wouldn't seat me in the main room -no reservations, but plenty of empty tables late in the afternoon--Come on! I went to the bar and ordered a small meal which was a pain in the ass for the waiter to deliver and the small counter space didn't help much. The food was nothing to write home about I had one of the cheapest things on the menu (shrimp of coarse) and a cocktail.I gave the waiter a good tip (he really did deserve it) and the bill was pushing $40. So my entree must have been north of $20--not really worth it. When I left I gave the "Maitre d'" a tip--a cold stare, showing if I don't see him again it would probably be good for the both of us.This was at "The Pike Place" a new development reviving the old one from the distant past in Long Beach, Ca. This was some years ago when it had just opened, I was so turned off from that experience I have never returned since or plan to. If I am offered a "freebie" to rate the place, I will pass the request to some one else. So, you literally couldn't pay me to eat there.
