What are the affects of lack of sleep? What can it do over time?

I have been going to bed late because of work and homework and getting up early for school. I'm getting to be really tired. What is it doing to my body? What are my options to relieve my tiredness?
I get around 5 to 6 hours of sleep a night and I can't nap after school, I start work a half hour later. Then I don't get home till 9:30 or later and have to do homework. Then its up at 5 the next morning.
