A special type of "source" or "starter" cell that has the ability to grow into adult tissue.

Stem cells are the foundation for every organ, tissue and cell in the human body. Stem cells may be able to repair or replace damaged tissue, thereby reversing diseases and injuries such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and blood diseases, to name a few.

Hiya !

Stem cells are "specialist cells" - which are capable of becoming ANY other cell - from a skin cell to a brain cell. Their function is dictated by the need of the body to reproduce whatever cell it needs.

Once a stem cell has formed its final 'designation' it doesn't change.

They are cells that can be specified as any organ or part of the body
Once they are established say as a finger, liver or brain this it what they will become.
Before that as a stem cell they can be anything.

They are a special type of cell that grows in the human body while reproducing. They can be removed and put into somebody, and they will turn into that part of a body. So if you had a really bad heart, they might use stem cells and insert them by your heart so that your heart could be repaired.

Barack Obama signed a 1,754,000,000 contract for stem cell research. I think that was smart because we might be able to save many lives if we can repair unhealthy parts of the body

hope i helped!
