multi-generational workforce? The company develops MP3 players, and has gone from a small local market, to an international market. The company is very strong financially, and is a Wall Street gem (or at least it was before the market crashed). There is a concern over the lack of dedication, drive and stamina from employees hired over the last 10 yrs, compared to employees hired 10+ yrs ago. Gen Y (age<26) & Gen X (27-45) groups of employees make up most of the hiring being done, and have no representation in the upper management roles. Another major problem is the high amount of employee turnover in the Gen Y and Gen X groups. Besides for offering competitive pay & a benefit plan (life insurance, AD&D, health insurance, dental coverage, and matching 401K contribution plan), what can my company do to retain, grow, and develop employees? How would you effectively manage the different generations? What company practices would you examine to ensure that they reflected the needs and wants of the different generations?
