What are some tips for grilling a whole small fish on a gas grill?

im cooking an OPELU. to all you people in the mainland (i live in hawaii) opelu is basically a small mackeral
id say the one fish weighs just under half a pound (maybe.45)
im cooking it whole on a gas grill
im thinking of some olive oil, rock salt and pepper, squeeze of lime juice
what are keys to cooking a whole small fish on the grill?
what heat should i cook it at? (low or medium, or somewhere in between)
