Hi, I'm sound designer for the an upcoming play at my college and i need some piano based threatening and hopeful classical pieces preferably by composers Debussy, Satie, Rachmaninoff, Mozart etc.I need the threatening piece to not be Charlie Chaplin silent film like but subtly beautiful and violent and the hopeful piece to start piano like and crescendo into a symphony with violins, flutes, harps... something that says REVOLUTIONARY, forward movement!! if you have ANY suggestions that in itself would help so much! Thank you :)

Off the top of my head I think that the opening to Rachmaninoff's First Piano Concerto might fit the bill for the subtly violent piece. It opens with a flurry of cascading double octaves. It is not too violent sounding. I think Brahms Second piano Concerto might fit the revolutionary and forward moving part. The Opening theme is serene and hopeful sounding. Keep in mind this is what I hear and is very subjective. It would help if I could see what you are scoring for. Good luck.
