What are some (post 50’s) historical events that shouldn’t be forgotten?
I was talking to a couple of young teenagers and I was a bit stunned when they didn’t know about the Three Mile Island accident, so I tried the Chernobyl disaster instead with just as poor results. Pol Pot reminded them of drugs; Idi Amin was a guy in a movie… at least they put Mao Zedong in China.
Now I’m wondering what historical events there are that are at risk of becoming forgotten by younger generations and what events should never be forgotten.
I’m looking for events from the entire world.
And, I don’t think the kids are stupid, I think they are poorly educated.
