I have examples like:
1. the victory gardens in WWII, where people changed parks, empty lots, etc into food gardens because fruits and vegetables had a hard time making its way to the market during that time. communities came together.
2. A 13th-century Buddhist leader-philosopher, Nichiren, while in exile, wrote in a letter thanking a follower for sending him food: "Rice is not simply rice, it is life itself." Food is life itself. It is our link with each other. Food is love, life and at the heart of society. Fittingly, the foods that are best for our bodies are also best for our society. (not sure if it is a weak example).
my three points to prove are,
Food introduces one to new cultures
Food is a source of life that unites people
Communities centered on food creates sustainability
Anything is appreciated.
i talk about the Holy Communion in my present day examples.
Just looking for times in the past where food brought people together. like the victory gardens example.
