What are some of your favorite depressing novel/play/film topics?

I've always been a big fan of reading morose plays and novels and watching sad films, and I was wondering what other options there are for me.

Some of the topics I really like to read (or watch) about include novels/plays/films about suicide, school shootings, depression, the AIDS epidemic, other illnesses...etc. It all sounds really morbid; I know. These are just topics that always catch my interest more than other topics.

Some of my personal favorites:
Angels in America (play/HBO film)
Bang, Bang You're Dead (play, later adapted to film)
Elephant (film)
Thirteen Reasons Why (novel)
I also liked the series Six Feet Under on HBO, though this isn't a novel, play, or film.

Any suggestions for me?
