what are some 'NEED TO HAVE' clothes?

im not good at making outfits at all and my mom said she'll give me 350-400$ for school clothes.
i dont want to spend it on stuff i can wear w/ one outfit instead many different outfits!
please help i dont want to waist my money! please and thanks!
