The most strenuous exercises, such as cross-country skiing and Nordic Track burn a mere 600 calories per HOUR, and nobody I know can do an hour's worth. You need to find a aerobic work out. I suffer from a spinal injury, and I found that I could use a float vest and do deep water running (jogging while floating in water) that kept me cool and comfortable, yet allowed me to get that 'buzz' from the endorphins that get released from a true aerobic workout.
