What are some good "quest" kind of books, like the hobbit?

I am trying to get my boyfriend to read more so I gave him The Hobbit. He loves it and so now I am trying to find more books like that. Ones with plenty of adventure, travel, and not set in modern day (his 3 favorite things about the hobbit) I need reccomendations! Nothing to hard to read though please*

The books for you are Sorcery by Steve Jackson. There are 4 in the set i think and the best thing about it is.... You don't just read the, you PLAY them.
