What are some good critique groups for authors or poets?

I asked a question here on YA about how to get my book evaluated, or what I could do to improve my writing. The answer was to join a critique group because they will tell you what your friends and family are too afraid (or too ignorant) to tell you - what's wrong with your book and what you can do to fix it.
This was great advice, but what are some good critique groups. That will help to edit my very rough writing.

A critique group for spec fic is Critters: http://www.critters.org

General purpose crit groups include Critique Circle and Forward Motion Writers: http://www.critiquecircle.com and http://fmwriters.com/index.html

I have no experience with any of those three. All I know is that they're free and that some people like them.

I do have some experience with my favorite online group, my genre's Share Your Work board at Absolute Write, http://absolutewrite.com/forums/index.php?referrerid=88 I've gotten valuable feedback there in two genres.

All that said, there's no replacement for a face-to-face critique group. A good one is much, much better than a good online group. You can often find out what ones are in your area by asking at libraries and bookstores, posting your needs at Craigslist and MeetUp, checking community center and coffee house bulletin boards, especially near colleges, or starting your own.
