what are some good b-day gifts for a 17 year old guy?

this guy is turning 17 ,a life guard and likes to play sports. and i have no idea what to get him!! i already have a chick-fl-a gift card and a regular card, but idk what else to get him!!! help!!!!
 
get him some bathing sits or a gift card for hollister,Modells,aeropostale...etc etc
maybe some sport stuff like surfing board, boogie board, beach balls, soccer balls, under armor, some of his favorite sport teams shirts,baseball and bat, basketball, hockey stick, rollerblades etc etc
**IF U ARE REALLY WILLING TO DO SOMETHING FOR THIS GUY THAT GET HIM AN AUTOGRAPH FROM HIS FAVORITE ATHLETE
 
Some mega cool surf shorts like designer or something? Favourite teams latest kit? Really cool waterproof watch... erm sports mag subscription, autographed sports teams stuff, new whatever he plays like if its hockey new cool hockey stick.dude! dumbells or a sittup bench! erm... what else... a bunch of waterguns? thats always fun...
