What are some exercises to do before a hike to help walk faster?

I am going to a state park tomorrow. I am slightly out of shape and the people I am going with are bigger/faster than me, I will have to walk a little faster than normal. They are done growing and I am not (haven't had a growth spurt yet), so I have to take 1 1/2 - 2 steps for every 1 of their steps.

I have the choice NOT to go, but I sort of want to because I have been on the trail (and it is a difficult one alright) and my cousin/her husband are going. I don't get to see them often and they are pretty fun people to be around. How this got started, beware as this might be a boring story, is today at my other cousin's graduation-from-high-school party (I know, my family has a very wide variety of age--one just turned 40 last year, I am the youngest at below age 15, three others are in their teens, a couple are in their twenties) they said "Anyone want to go to (insert name of state park here) tomorrow?" sort of as a joke. My sister, who is 19, said, "Oh, I was going to go today or tomorrow, but today was the open house for graduation!" At first they thought we were kidding because my family is a sort of sarcastic, joke-filled family. Then we said we could go together and all that, so I asked if I could go, and my sister said if I want to, because my brother is going, too, and I sort of wanted to go.

This is a harder trail, and I had been on it once before, and it is a little tiring. It's not unbearable but not easy to just hike right through easily for intermediates like my brother and sister. I was wondering if maybe there was a breakfast I could eat (nothing with too many carbs, anything too high in carbs will give me a terrible headache early in the day and lasts until I take Tylenol, and nothing without protein, protein make my day better) that will help me do better, and I was even considering buying apples (since people at my house don't like them) for fibre because fibre helps me out especially in my slight constipation situation.

And the second thing, are there any helpful stretches and exercises that I can quickly do before I leave (multiple that take no longer than five minutes)?
