What are some career options for biology graduates with a desire for a social

work atmosphere? I am a recent graduate of UCSD with a B.S. in Human Biology. I am eager to apply for graduate school and pursue at least a Masters (possibly a Doctorate) in a more specified field. I feel that my biggest mistake in taking undergraduate coursework was that I had chosen a major that I was only half-interested in - and my grades certainly reflected this. Therefore, before I apply, I'd like to decide on a career that I can actually see myself enjoying in the future so that I may select a focus for my graduate degree accordingly.

In any past job I have had, I have enjoyed a social atmosphere. What can I say? I'm a people person. Many graduates in my field of study end up accepting work within the research community. I simply don't see myself feeling fulfilled in that line of work. I am hoping to gain some insight from others that might be aware of some different lines of work in biology with a social aspect to them. I have considered careers in both genetic counseling and pharmaceutical, biotechnological, or biomedical supply sales. I feel that these options would both allow me to put my science expertise to use and allow for interaction outside the laboratory.

I am eager to hear back from users who may have other ideas for social career opportunities that exist within the scientific community.
