My client has requested a flash intro, background music, all the bells, whistles that are frowned upon in the world of web design. He wants give off a "substantial" vibe, impressing his visitors. So yes, some flash sites can be impressive, but also annoying and too showy, long load times, ignored by bots, etc. What are some alternatives that I can look into that will still give this "substantial" effect he wants? Should I tell him no on the background music and flash intro? I understand these things are outdated in web design, but how do you tell a client No when that's what they want and are willing to pay for it?
