...College of SI campus? I'll be transferring to College of Staten Island in the fall and don't really know too much about the Staten Island area. I'll be looking for an apartment, affordable (preferably no more than $800 a month), in a relatively decent neighborhood (doesn't need to be too sophisticated but needs to be safe), and within walking/biking distance to the campus or with a convenient bus route to campus. What neighborhoods would fit in to this criteria? Any average working class neighborhood will do, but I've heard the cheapest housing is on the north shore and I've also heard the north shore tends to be a rough area in certain places. Are there any safe, affordable, convenient neighborhoods in the CSI area?
