What are requirements to become a U.S. army sniper?

I was wondering what requirements you would have to have to become an Army Sniper? If possible, please cite your info.
 
I believe you just sign up as a normal soldier and if you are a good shot you can apply to become a sniper but thats just speculation.
 
best thing to do is to go talk to an Army recruiter in your area. You have to go through basic training just like any other recruit, but I am sure there is a ton of additional qualifications. Most likely a lie detector test, where they will even ask you the simple stuff like, "have you ever smoked weed?" Its something you need to really want, because its not easy. Go talk to the recruiter and good luck.
 
The answerer present is correct.. however- it's a peculiar interest of yours considering it seems you haven't even enlisted in the army yet... and your primary ambition is to be a sniper... I hope they interview you on that first... check your head maybe while they are at it.
