My mother passed away a couple of weeks ago. We need to get the process rolling for distributing assets. She died intestate, so in NY that requires administration.
There is no real estate and about 1.2M in bk accounts and 200K in 2 IRA's in which me and my sister are the beneficiaries. There is no contesting of anything, my mom was a widow and there is no internal fighting.
We need a lawyer for the process. I want to make sure we don't get ripped off. What kinds of questions should I ask, and what is reasonable for this?
