What are my legal rights to car I lent my sister?

So, both my sister and I were very lucky and given cars by family members in our late teens. I originally had chosen not to take on the expense and kept riding a bike for the first year after I had gotten it. My sister drove hers and wrecked it....she was then given a truck, but the daily gas expenses were too much for her and she begged me to use my car. I foolishly said yes. This was 2006. Since then, I have asked for the car repeatedly and she has refused. It's a 1993 Nissan and I told her I didn't want it driven long distances, but she still drove it from Northern California to LA, Nevada, and other far off places. She has put money into repairing it since then, and she insists I can't have it back until I pay her what she paid to repair it. The title is in my name..do I have a legal right to take back the car?...various arguments have ensued since I let her use it, and I would like to settle this one way or another.
