I am a 16 girl and live in York, PA and I want nothing more than to work in Pittsburgh, PA as a sports writer for either a newspaper in Pittsburgh or primarily for the Pittsburgh Penguins for Pens TV. What are my chances at these careers?
For experience I just completed my sophomore year of high school and was a sports writer for my school newspaper. I was also chosen by my journalism teacher as the sports columnist for my junior year and before my senior year I am going to apply for sports editor. Also this coming fall I have a student internship with ESPN. I am also going to see if I can get a student internship with the Hershey Bears since I am a fan of them and they're my local hockey team.
I am planning on going to Point Park University, which is in downtown Pittsburgh to major in journalism and minor in broadcasting.
