What are leica lens(Like Panasonic Lumix has it?)?

Leica is a legendary 100 year old German camera company. They make excellent quality lenses and cameras but their cameras are VERY expensive - and probably worth every cent because they are built so well. The better the lens, the better the possible image results (if the photographer knows what they are doing). Take the same camera at the same time, etc., and use a bad lens vs. a good one - the good lens will give better results. However, other lens makers also make fine lenses - Canon, Nikon, and Tokina all make fine lenses - some better than others. Do not buy a camera based on the lens brand alone - get what you need for your purposes. The Panasonic Lumix DMC -GHK "Micro 4/3rds" camera is great but a little pricey right now - is that the one you plan on getting? If so be glad to know that it is the only camera in its class with auto-focus during video capture. I wouldn't mind owning one of those myself - it won the American Photo 2009 "Camera of the Year" Award.

I've heard about leica lens but I'm not sure what they are. How does it make the image quality better? What is it? I've heard that Panasonic has leica lens so that's why it's recommended?
