what are high school dance team tryouts like?

[thats a stupid question.]

i want to be on my high school dance team, but ive never really danced with a group. What are the tryouts like? does the dance teacher teah all the students a dance to perform at the tryouts?
i'll be a senior when i tryout...so should i do it?
or is it to late for me to be on the dance team and be good at it?
im flexible, and pick up dances pretty easily.

I'm on middle school dance team but we didn't have to try out;
everyone automatically made the team. I'm sure once you go on try out day they'll tell you. You could always ask the director a few days in advance though!
At our high school the instructor teaches everyone a dance then they do it. After she see's each group do it she writes down notes that help her make her decision.

ya definitely try out you will be happy you did!

I know when a friend of mine tried out for the dance team the teacher taught them a quick dance and they had a short time to learn it and then perform it. It sounds like you would be good at this. I know for some people its hard to pick up right away and for others its a piece of cake.
