what are good tires for a road bike that are going to withstand urban conditions ?

i have a road bike and i want to know what kind of tires are good for the city.
i don't care if they weigh. i just need them to get me from point A to point B, without getting flats.
the thicker the tire the better :)
could you guys tell me where i can find the tires like a website or chain store.
size 700x23
im a college student so the cheaper the better
