What are good pre-workout meals?

I jump rope for my exercise, and it has helped me lose weight before. However, I took a month or so break from it, and didn't eat so good during the break at lunch (think Dairy Queen haha). Now when I do it, I always get sideaches and get tired quick. I eat healthy again, but I need to know what to eat before I jump rope because I think my foods don't give me enough energy. What are good low-fat meals that will give me energy and stamina?
