I was charged with less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana and paraphernalia in NC. I am 19 years old and have no previous criminal record. I have met with an attorney and he suggests deferred prosecution. He also informed me that court costs will be $355. Is this correct? I've spoken to a friend who went through the same charges and he said that his court costs were approximately $150.
