I have a 2002 Ford Escort ZX2.
I have a friend who has been negatively effected by the bad economy. He keeps asking to borrow money from me. I want to tell him that I'm having car problems and can't help him. I don't know much about cars and don't know what to tell him is wrong. Since my car is 8 years old, I figured there's something that could go wrong. I've been lucky that the only problems I've had so far are brakes, tires, serpentine belt, battery, and ball bearings.
Any suggestions what I could say is wrong with my car? I would prefer the problem to be something sudden and unexpected. The more costly the better. Thanks!
