What are better ways to get further in life than by College?

Well if you are planning to go that route you should look for employment with a company that has growth opportunities so that atleast you wont be stuck in the same position your whole life. Some employers prefer college degrees for the higher positions in their companyand some prefer to employ people with college degrees. Just remember that these poeple you are recieving advice from will not be the ones trying to get employment or trying to go to school so it is all up to you and what you want your future to be like. I had a long interesting chat with a group of people today. The "old-fashioned" traditional thinkers insist on going to college while the younger guys around my age are insisting on better alternatives to college. I'm leaning towards the newer. I believe college is only good for people who wanna be like brain surgeons, doctors, lawyers or engineers but im sure its good for everything. However, a friend of mine knows people who went to great universities and finished with no decent job (if at all) while quite a few who never went to college are making better money. I am sooo confused right now. Im 18 years old just graduated high school.......omg!
