I recently purchased a used mid 80's Schwinn World Sport and the rims that were on it are labeled Araya. I'm curious to know whether these are steel, alloys or aluminum because I'm not sure. Then the next question that comes is that I hear a lot about a 700mm conversion from the original 27inch style rims. What will this do for me and am I able to buy these rims so that i can starve my bike of a few extra pounds? Is it really worth doing? Also if you have any other ideas how i can save weight can u please post them? Any additional information about how to optimize my World Sport would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
