My medical bills amount to over 45,000 and I'm still in therapy and treatment. I was at one hospital for over 8 hours while they stabilized me before they could transfer me to a trauma center.I have scars from road rash down my left leg and thigh ,2 small scars on my face, and my main injury was really bad.My Main injury was my right hand. It was pinned under the car and cut very badly. The tendons in my index and middle fingers were cut,as were the nerves. I underwent 4 hours of surgery,spent 3 days in the hospital and have been in therapy since December 2009.My hand is badly scarred,very much weakened , and will never be completely 100 %. I am 27 years old,right hand dominant and my main line of work is as a cashier. I've been unable to work due to this. I'm also an aspiring singer. I've had to turn down 2 job offers, and 4 opportunities to get my music heard on a large scale. (I.E. 2 nationally broadcasted tv shows,a movie,and a talent showcase.)
I was no fault - the person driving the machinery that hit me admitted they were not paying attention and was looking at the ground, and the box from my car proves that I was not speeding and did everything I possibly could to avoid the collision. My niece(underage) was also injured but we are doing a separate complaint for her.
